Hello Dear Friends and Family,
As always, it’s been a little while since our last update, but we have so much to share! God has been doing incredible things in our lives, and we want to bring you along in both celebration and prayer.
Kara’s Health Update
In November, Kara completed her treatment—what a huge milestone! Closing that chapter has been a great relief, and she is so thankful to no longer need regular treatments. She will, however, continue having blood work done every three months, which always brings some nerves. Her next appointment is on April 14th, so we ask for your prayers for good results. She also recently had her one-year checkup with her surgical oncologist, and everything went well. As she undergoes additional tests and doctor visits, we continue to trust God for her health and ask for prayers that nothing concerning arises.
Church Planting & Ministry
With cancer treatment behind us, we’ve been able to fully invest in healthy rhythms for our family and move forward in church planting. This past fall was incredibly busy! Kara, as our Events and Outreach Coordinator, went all in—and it was amazing! We had over 550 people attend our Trunk or Treat event, and our church continues to grow. Growth always brings challenges, but we are so encouraged by what God is doing.
We’ve been building strong relationships with our neighbors, and it’s been incredible to see people coming to our church whom we first connected with when we moved here. Watching the fruit of those relationships has been a true blessing.
Our Goals for This Year:
Increase our average attendance from 64 to 80. Already, God is bringing new families, and we can see His faithfulness!
Become self-sustaining by the end of the year. Right now, we still need to raise financial support until the church can fully sustain itself and cover our needs. We trust in His provision—He has never failed us!
One of the biggest blessings has been the culture of our church—it truly feels like family. We have an incredible team, and we are so grateful.
Family Life
The girls are doing great and keeping us on our toes!
Carlee (14) is starting her fourth volleyball season and absolutely loves reading and writing. She’s also developed a sharp sense of humor that keeps us laughing (and sometimes rolling our eyes!).
Riley (almost 12) has the sweetest, most compassionate heart. Many people stay at our church because they’ve been welcomed with Riley’s warm smiles and hugs. She serves on our First Impressions Team and does an amazing job.
Chelsea (9) also serves on the First Impressions Team and brings so much fun and energy. She has an incredible imagination and is often off in her own little world—so much fun to watch! She’s a great friend to kids of all ages.
Josie (5) is bursting with life! She’s often seen at church barefoot with a snack in hand, leading her little toddler crew. There are so many kids at church that it sometimes feels like they’re taking over—but we love it!
Finley (almost 2) is growing fast. It’s hard to believe she’ll be two in May! She absolutely adores her mommy, which is extra special given the challenges Kara faced with treatment. She loves to dance, and every night before bed, she insists on praying and singing the Doxology—hearing her little voice praising Jesus is enough to bring tears to your eyes!
How You Can Pray
We are so grateful for your continued prayers and support. As we follow God’s calling, we ask for prayer in these specific areas:
For our family and marriage—that God would protect us from the enemy’s attacks.
For wisdom and strength as I lead our team.
For Kara’s continued health and good test results in April.
For the growth and sustainability of our church.
Thank you for standing with us. Your prayers and support mean more than we can express. We are deeply grateful for each of you!
With love and gratitude,
Orrin and Kara Witt
